TEAMS:

This handles the setup and running of a competition involving Teams in pool play
~ with or without players
~ with or without officials
~ caters for various badminton formats:

- from 3 to 16 matches in a Tie (a ‘game’ between 2 teams)
- multiple player formats (from 2xMS,1xMD through to 4xMS, 4xLS, 2xMD, 2xLD, 4xMXD)
- 1, 3 or 5 games per match (with or without setting)
- handles both point per rally and points only awarded when server wins rally
- handles fixed setting points or win by a certain number to a maximum number of points
        eg   fixed setting - set 3 points at 14 all – winner is side that gets to 17 first
               win by 2 when at 20 all to a maximum of 31
- 7, 9, 11, 15, 21, 25, 31, 35, 41 or 45 points per game
- mixture of point formats within a Tie  (ie. Ladies to 11, Men to 15)
- different win type formats – points can be awarded to the winning team

~ handles assignment of session dates, times, locations and courts

~ provides a variety of reports:
- draws, tie sheets (with or without players / results), pool results, rankings
- player analysis

NAMES:

~ Captures ‘personal’ details about people or organisations
- name, addresses, phone numbers, date of birth

~ Assigns ‘attachments’ which then record a full history about a player
These can show, by year - club membership, financial level, positions held, teams played for
- you can add your own attachments

~ Extensive search functionality
- by name (or part of name)
- by ‘personal’ detail
- by attachments

 

INDIVIDUALS:

~ Caters for Individual events using the knockout tree (winners move to the next round, losers are out)
   or Pool Play

~ caters for up to 128 entrants in Knockout

~ provides plates, classic plates and consolation plates

~ caters for up to 32 entrants in up to 8 pools

From version 245:

~ caters for Boxed Doubles
- players enter as individuals and play in boxes of 4.
- each player plays 1 match with each of the players in the box
- at the next session, box winners move up and losers move down a box

~ caters for Ladder Pools
- in all 5 events
- if doubles, the same pair plays all other pairs in their box
- at the next session, box winners move up and losers move down a box
(prior to version 245, you are able to run the Ladder Pools via the Teams module)

PLAYER HISTORY:

~ Displays the full match details for players in any one year
~ collates all matches from all Individual events for easy viewing

~ Player History for Teams events are only available for each tournament

 

PLAYER RANKING:

Available for all Individual events for any one year or for previous ‘n’ months
~ Tournaments are assigned to a ‘tier level’
~ Points are awarded depending on how far through the tournament a player advances
Reports are generated based on these assigned points

Available for all Teams events
~ Tournaments are assigned to a ‘tier level’
~ Points are awarded depending on the team position played
Reports are generated based on these assigned points

 

CLUB PLAY:

~ Assists club captains to run club nights.

It provides:

~ a list of players in 'next on' order

~ a view of all courts for the selected round

~ the ability to easily schedule who is to play on which court

~ a list of all games that a player has played
- how often they have played
- what type of games – singles, doubles or mixed
- who they have played with

~ a timer function which counts down (each second) from a pre-set number of minutes

~ the ability to handle a new player

 

DATA EXCHANGE:

~ Provides the ability to take a full copy of a Tournament and then install that Tournament into another Tourny Database

This is under review as probably will take considerable effort
Meantime, you can post any report to the web as a .pdf
- obtain a copy of a PDF Writer program  
- instead of printing to a printer you ‘print’ it to a .pdf file
- post this .pdf on to the web
