Dianne Haynes is the senior instructor
with 30 years experience. Sensei Dianne first started Aikido in 1976 under
Sensei Hugh Miller, later completing her first dan (black belt) with Sensei
Ron Russell. She continued her journey in Aikido initially in Auckland and
later in Rotorua, where she and her husband Paul founded the Rotorua Aikido
Club Inc.
Sensei Dianne's style of Aikido is unique and very enjoyable. She teaches
by example and her students reflect her high standard of training.
The Club was started on 3rd September 1986, and was incorporated in 1990.
Our goals are to foster and further Aikido in Rotorua and, with other like
organisations, promote Aikido throughout New Zealand.
On 31st March 2000 the Club purchased
our own Dojo. To herald the new millenium and this new beginnning we
have rebranded our style name to Tatsu-Gi-Kai (evolution through form).
We offer the community a safe place to train and enjoy a martial art, the
coming together of people with a common goal, encourage self-confidence and
self-esteem in our students including the children, and give children excellent
role models.
