JUNIPER WINS INTERMEDIATE IN SHOW

Ch.Porthcurno Tartan Tights went Best Intermediate In Show under breed specialist and BIS judge Dr.Ron James (UK) at the NZ Pointer Club's 8th.Ch.show in November 2006 out of a total entry of 57.
This follows on from her winning the Reserve CC and Best Junior In Show under breed specialist Rui Oliveira (Portugal) in 2006.
A young daughter of Jo Dowthwaite's import NZ CH Freebreeze Romantic Fool at Notting Hill (Imp UK) Juniper is making her mark on the scene with a number of Best of Group and Reserve Best of Group awards under both local and overseas judges since then.
Combining the best UK lines from Crookrise and other kennels, she continues our line of winning bitches.

MARCUS WINS BEST IN SHOW

Ch.Porthcurno Soleil D'Or went Best In Show under Mrs. M E Diesem (Rexford, NY) , shown by co-owner Becky Randall at the Seddon Districts Gundog Soc. Ch. Show on 30th. Nov 2002.
Becky has had Marcus since he was 9 months old, and she has shown him in many Junior Handler contests and had more than her share of winning there, as well as competing with him in the breed ring with some good wins against some very stiff competition, including a Res. Best In Show All-breeds Ch. show.

WILLIAM WINS JUNIOR IN SHOW

Ch. Porthcurno Highlander (subject to K.C.verification)D.O.B. 29 May 2001At Sth Canterbury K.A. in October 2002 William won Best Junior Gundog under Mrs.J.Horton on Saturday as well as winning his last Challenge to reach his Ch. title. On the Sunday he won Best Gundog (Group 1) under Mrs.E.Gunter as well as Best Junior Gundog. He then went on to win Best Junior In Show.

ROSE WINS RES.BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW At The Pointer Club Ch.Show 5th.October 2002 under U.K. breed specialist Malcolm Leslie our Ch.Porthcurno Rose Touch won Best Bitch and then went on to Reserve Best in Show from an overall entry of 60 from the whole of New Zealand.
WILLIAM WINS PUPPY IN SHOW At Southern Gundog Assoc. Easter 2002 Ch.Show Porthcurno Highlander won Puppy in Show under NZ Gundog Specialist Mr.Doug Swift. Two years ago his sire Ch.Pinedene Orion (bred by Marlene Zanders) won the same award.
WILLIAM WINS PUPPY IN SHOW At Canterbury Ladies K.A. in March 2002 our young William (Porthcurno Highlander) won not only Best Gundog Puppy but also Best Gundog (Group 1) under well-known Australian Gundog judge Stephanie Rickard. He then proceeded to finish the day with Puppy in Show.
ROSE WINS BEST IN SHOW At Geraldine Counties K.A. Ch.Show in April this year our Ch.Porthcurno Rose Touch pulled off "the big one" and went Best in Show. It was the end to a perfect day when I felt that she had done everything perfectly and I couldn't have asked anything more from her.

VALENTINE AND RYAN WIN Ch.Porthcurno Cloud Chaser has just been announced as "Runner up Southern Gundog Society Dog Of The Year" for the year 2000 at the recent Easter show. This competition is for all club members' gundog breeds in the South Island. Our youngster Pinedene Orion also won Best Puppy In Show at the same show.
VALENTINE WINS RES.B.I.S. Ch.Porthcurno Cloud Chaser won Res B.I.S. at the Malvern A&P All breeds Ch.show in May 2000 under Judge Leslie Chalmers. She also won Res B.I.S. at the November 2000 Southern Gundog Soc.Ch.Show under judge Jim Mackender from Australia.
VALENTINE WINS Ch.Porthcurno Cloud Chaser has been announced as the overall winner of the "PAL" Points score for N.Z. for the year 2000. This competition is for the breed in the whole of N.Z. and this win follows her win as top bitch for the year 1999.
QUIGLEY AND ROSE WIN Ch.Rhodes Southern Comfort has just been announced as the "Southern Gundog Society Dog Of The Year" for the year 1999 at the recent Easter show. This competition is for all club members' gundog breeds in the South Island. He also won B.O.B. at their Easter Ch.Show and Ch.Porthcurno Cloud Chaser was Res.B.O.B. Ch.Porthcurno Rose Touch won Best N.Z.Bred In Show at the same show also.
FLAG IS TOP UK STUD DOG 1999 UK Ch.Crookrise Old Glory Imp UK has been announced as the Top Stud Dog for 1999 in the Dog World magazine UK annual competition. He congratulates all his winning progeny: GALEMA COMMANCHE, ex Galema Harvest Festival, SH CH CALDERSIDE LOVE IN A MIST AT WHEREATHY ex Sherryton Love Bug at Calderside, and PIPEAWAY CULTURE VULTURE, ex Sh Ch Pipeaway Champers Galore.
STELLA GOES BEST VETERAN IN SHOW At the 1999 spring Southern Gundog Society Ch.Show Ch.Porthcurno Blue Moon, owned by Marlene Zanders, went not only B.O.B. but also Best Veteran In Show at nine years of age. At the same show Marcus (Porthcurno Soleil D'Or), co-owned by Becky Randall, won another CC from stiff competition, and also won the Res.BOB.
VALENTINE WINS SCORES TOP BITCH In the official results from the "Pedigree Pal Points Score" 1998-99 breed competition Ch.Porthcurno Cloud Chaser gained top score for bitches in the country, plus top South Island Pointer, and third best in the breed for the year. Her kennel mate Ch.Rhodes Southern Comfort (Quigley) was also the top scoring S.I. Pointer dog.

On the 4th July 1999 The Pointer Club of NZ held their first Ch.Show, judged by Karin Ashe, and Ch.Porthcurno Cloud Chaser pulled off the big one! Best In Show and Best NZ bred In Show from a NZ record entry of 66 pointers. Our Ch.Rhodes Southern Comfort also went Best Open In Show. Best Parent & Progeny also went to our Gr.Ch.Porthcurno Touchin'Wood with her daughters Valentine & Rose, and son Marcus.
Judges critique: "A lovely orange & white bitch who exemplified the standard. Excellent head, well defined, bee sting tail, well muscled and sound. Balanced overall and steady in disposition. Good length of rib and loin, with good breadth of lower thigh."

QUIGLEY WINS AGAIN

At the recent 1999 S.I.Supreme Show Dog Contest our Ch.Rhodes Southern Comfort went Reserve Best In Contest in this prestigious annual event. This invitation contest held in July gathered together 30 of the 36 dogs who have qualified by winning an All-Breeds Ch.Best In Show in the South Island. Our Quigley made it all the way through to the final winning Best Gundog as well as Reserve Best In Contest.

PAST RESULTSThe summer of 1998-99 has been good for us, and some of the better achievements are listed here:
QUIGLEY GOES R.B.I.S.
In March at the Canterbury Ladies K.A. Ch.Show, one of the most prestigious South Island shows, Ch. Rhodes Southern Comfort won Best Gundog (Group 1) and then went on to go Reserve Best in Show under the well-known Australian Labrador breeder Guy Spagnola. This was Quigley's third RBIS to add to his BIS last year at Otago K.A.
MARCUS WINS R.B.I.S. At the end of January Porthcurno Soleil D'Or, co-owned by junior handler Becky Randall had a great week-end. Best of Group and then Reserve Best in Show at the Hutt Valley Kennel Centre Ch.Show under Mr.S.Rose of Australia was a great thrill for Becky. Mr. Rose said to her after the show that the trip over to NZ was worth it just to see Marcus move. At the same weekend he also went Best of Breed at The Gundog Society Ch. Show in a large breed entry.
STELLA GOES B.I.S. In November at the Seddon Districts Gundog Soc. Ch.Show Ch.Porthcurno Blue Moon, owned by Marlene Zanders, went Best in Show. This makes her the fourth of our bitches to go best in show here, following her sister Gr.Ch.Porthcurno Touchin'Wood, her niece Ch.Porthcurno Cloud Chaser, and her mother Ch.Porthcurno Touch of Gold.
VALENTINE WINS POINTER CLUB SHOW In 1998 the newly formed NZ Pointer Club held its first open show, judged by Sharon Byrne, and Ch.Porthcurno Cloud Chaser took the top prize. Her mother Gr.Ch.Porthcurno Touchin'Wood was also best Veteran in Show.
