Inter-club Competition 2008

Playing Format

Each club team will consist of 6 players.

In each match there will be 6 singles, 3 doubles and 2 triples matches.

A win for a Singles match will be worth 2 points, Doubles 3 points and Triples 5 points.

The club with the most wins (in the first instance) in each of the zones will be the "zone Champion" for 2008.

If there is a tie in the number of wins between two or more clubs after the 5 preliminary rounds, the accumulated points from the match scores will be used to separate clubs. If a tie still remains the teams will be separated by who defeated whom in the 5 preliminary rounds.

After the 5 preliminary rounds the top two teams in each zone will play off for the Interclub Division One Championship. The third and fourth placed teams will play off for the Second Division Title and the 5th placed teams will play off for ninth and tenth place.

Defaults

Whilst it is expected that clubs will not be in a position to need to default, sometimes circumstances may require a club to default a round of matches. Should this be necessary, the club is to contact the draw steward (Graeme Morris) before 8pm on the Friday prior to the round of matches. The club defaulting the match will lose the match and their opponents for that round will be awarded a win and a score value of 16 points (note: there is a maximum of 31 points available in each match). The club that has defaulted will gain no points for that match. These points will only be important if there is a situation where they need to be used to separate teams after the 5 preliminary rounds.
