Notice is hereby given that a Special General Meeting of Pétanque New Zealand will be held at 9.30am on 14th September 2008, at the offices of Sport Wellington, 113 Adelaide Rd, Wellington.
The purpose of the meeting is to vote on a Special Resolution to implement the changes to PNZ's Constitution relating to governance arrangements, agreed on at the 2008 AGM.
A copy of the proposed amended Constitution is attached (Not archived). The amended sections are highlighted in yellow.
It is proposed to rescind the current Constitution and replace it in its entirety with the new one.

Another change to the New Zealand team to compete in the Women's World Championship in November. Jane Gilbert has withdrawn from the team and will not be replaced. The team, after a rather circuitous route, now comprises the same players who took part in the 2006 Women's World Championship.
Note: Any member of PNZ can attend (Clause 5.2.2 of current Constitution).

Best of luck to the Wellington regional team who are heading north to play against Auckland this weekend (23/24 August).
The Wellington team members are: Myles Cowper (Windy Hills), Nick Jegousse (Park Avenue), Andrew Joe (Windy Hills), Barbara Johnston (Masterton), Sebastien Merval (Windy Hills), Joan Miller (Masterton), Graeme Morris (Masterton), Enoka Smiler (Park Avenue), Christine Strichen (Wanganui East), Richard Turfrey (Wanganui East), Claire Wilson (Masterton), Nikki Winnie (Windy Hills). The coach/selector is Dirk Winnie (Khandallah).
At the end of the first day's play at Herne Bay, Auckland leads Wellington by 37 match points to 23. Tomorrow the action moves to the West End club for the Triples.
The final match score was Auckland 72, Wellington 48. After two matches the score is 1-1 with both sides winning at home.

Finally, the rain stopped falling on a scheduled day and play (even in sunshine) took place. The final round is now scheduled for Sunday 21 September at Park Avenue.
