Due to recent events in China, the Chinese Federation can not ensure the Women's World Championships this year.
The F.I.P.J.P. [is] working to find an organizer who can handle the organization of [the] Women's Championships 2008.
Masterton successfully defended the Jacques Cochonnet Trophy in their first away match at Silverstream. Their next defence is away to Horowhenua.

Masterton had a close encounter in their second defence against Wanganui East (played in Masterton). Down 1-2 after the first round, they fought back to level the scores in round 2 and finally win the match 5-4. Masterton's next defence is away to Silverstream.
