The Agenda for the WPA Meeting this Thursday is attached. I had hoped to get it out earlier. I have set out correspondence and matters arising known to me, and it would be appreciated if the delegate most involved would speak to the item concerned (briefly please as there is a long agenda to get through).
If there is anything missed, please raise it on the night. I have also set out a full list of upcoming events for the year so that the venue and dates are known. Of course, there might be additions as time goes by.
If you could identify yourselves when speaking, that would help me immensely until I get to know who you are. Thanks.
Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday at Silverstream.

People like lists. People also like ranking things. Ergo we have ranking lists!
Who are the strongest players in the Wellington region? We could probably agree on the top 5, but what about the top 10, or 20 or even 50?
In the absence of a perfomance based system (such as ELO ratings, where you gain more points from beating stronger opponents), perhaps it is time to review the Regional seeding list.
An alternative Ranking list. Comments are welcome.
The minutes of the AGM have been sent out to all clubs. A copy will also be placed on the PNZ website along with the Annual Report.
Note: Voting at the AGM is done on a proportional basis, where each region receives 1 vote for every 100 club members (or part thereof). The membership numbers are: Upper North Island (APA & Bay of Plenty) 438 members, 5 votes; Lower North Island (WPA & Hawke's Bay) 450 members, 5 votes; Canterbury/Tasman 223 members, 3 votes; Southern 174 members, 2 votes. A simple majority requires 8 votes.
