6 March 2008 : Jacques Cochonnet Challenge

The second "away" defence, and probably the first match played under lights, saw Khandallah's 31 match winning streak finally broken as Masterton emerged the victor in a tight match.

16 March 2008 : WPA Regional Triples

Andrew Joe, Graeme Morris and Dean Norman won the 2007 Regional Triples Championship by beating Lorraine Gibbons, Doug Hay and Helene Hay in the final, played under lights at the Kapiti terrain.

Earlier, the Plate final had been won by Myles Cowper, Peter Dennett and Richard Lawson who beat Robin Mann, Graeme Pilcher and Tommy Werry. The Bowl final was won by Barbara Johnston, Joan Miller and Claire Wilson over Karepa Mataira, Christine Strichen and Richard Turfrey.

Please make sure your Club has a good look at this proposal and gets back to Michael Rocks as this is an important step in the future of PNZ.

I understand Michael has had very little feedback.

28 March 2008 : WPA Meeting Minutes

Minutes for all the WPA meetings since 1996 are now online. While many are rather dry, there are several themes that repeat over the years - tournament formats, coaching, promotion of pétanque and how to increase club membership.

28 March 2008 : PNZ National Triples

Thirty teams are taking part in the fourteenth National Triples. This year they are being held at the Herne Bay Club in Auckland.

Trevor Neilson (National Tournament Director) has supplied a list of teams and an information sheet (not archived) for participants.

29 March 2008 : WPA Champion of Champions Triples

Ten clubs were represented in this year's Champion of Champions Triples held at Otaki. In the final, Jason Andersen, Myles Cowper and Sebastien Merval (Windy Hills) beat Jan Hayward, Sandy MacDonald and Shirley MacDonald (Horowhenua).
