My Whipp ancestors were from the Northern Berkshire (now Oxfordshire) areas of Stanford in the Vale, Faringdon and Drayton. Our earliest link is Robert Whipp born about 1600 possibly in Medbourne, Liddington, Wiltshire. Robert died in Shellingford in 1670 and his will mentions that he was late of Medbourne. According to his will Robert had at least three children, Robert, John and Stephen. Robert remained in Medbourne, John lived in Little Hinton Wilts and Stephen is mentioned in the Shellingford parish register. No baptisms have been found for Robert, John or Stephen although the Liddington parish register contains gaps in the era concerned. For this web site I have started at Edward Whipp born 1701.
My earliest Howkins ancestor is Thomas Howkins, born about 1700 in the Ardley, Oxfordshire area.
