Rotorua

Manaakitanga - Feel the spirit

Rotorua is one of New Zealands leading tourist destinations and has welcomed visitors for over 160 years. With Te Arawa being the first guides to take people across Lake Rotomahana to the pink and white terraces, lost in the 1887 eruption of Mount Tarawera. There is still so much to see and do here today. Check out these pictures of the 2001 Kuirau Park eruption.

Due to its central location it is easily accessible for business and pleasure as we are well serviced by domestic airlines and road transportation. There are 12 lakes right on our doorstep Lake Rotorua, Rotoehu, Rotoiti, Tarawerea, Rotoma, Okatina, Okereka, Tikitapu (Blue Lake), Rotomahana and Rerewhakaaitu which are great for fishing and watersports. There is also Lake Rotokakahi (Green Lake)This lake is owned by the local Maori, and is one of the few pieces of water that is privately owned in New Zealand.

With its mountains, lakes, forests and rivers it makes it one of the most beautiful places as well. With so much to do and enjoy from, boating, fishing, tramping, walking or just seeing the thermal wonders.

Its 45 minutes to the coast and beach at Tauranga or Mt Manganui and two hours to Mt Ruapehu for skiing climbing and tramping (also an active volcano current status Alert Level1)
