| There are many tools
specifically adapted for Bonsai. These are examples of
some of the tools. Top - Knob Cutter. It's rounded cutting edge gives a hollowed out cut, ideal for branch stubs and tidying old wounds. Middle-top - Jin Pliers. These are used to tear and peel away bark for the effect of jin or shari. Middle-bottom - Trunk Splitter. As the name implies these are used for splitting trunks or larger branches. Bottom - Concave Branch Cutter for small branches. This gives a flush cut that enables the tree to heal over smoothly. Left - Snips. These long-nosed snips are handy for cutting small branches, leaves etc. Useful for cutting in areas of dense foliage. |

| Wire Wire is available in a variety of types and thicknesses. Copper-coated Aluminum wire is widely used and very versatile. It is easily bent and controlled. Copper wire is more generally available in smaller sizes, and used mostly on smaller, more fragile bonsai. |
