Q: So, what's the film about?
Check out the Film page for more info, and also notes on Cast members to find out about the main players. Essentially, it's about three twenty-something friends coming to terms with 'being an adult'. It's a comedy, with a chunk of drama thrown in.
Q: What's Slovenia got to do with the title?
OK, time to 'fess up. Pretty much nothing - the title started life as a mixed up predictive text message. We both thought that would be a cool title for a film. But there is also a tenuous link to something in the film regarding Slovenia, to watch out for.
Q: How far through are you guys?
At this point, we are pretty much over the phase known as 'production'. Every weekend from the start of June - mid August 2006, we were out on location shooting the film. Now we're entrenched in the home editing suite, preparing a rough cut of the film to be used in further funding applications and test audiences.
Q: So, when can I see it ?
That's a good question. If everything goes well, the second half of 2007. We have a lot of work to do with composing, sound mix, colour grading, the occasional pick-up reshoot.
Q: How is this film being funded?
The film's budget will most likely be coming from a number of directions. We both personally will be investing our own money, but fund-raising activities will be ongoing. This will involve diverse things such as TradeMe auctions (Jonathon's artwork), T-shirts raffles, and the potential of an upcoming Christmas concert. Money will go towards equipment and equipment hire, props, and attempting to compensate those involved for petrol, etc.
We will be applying, in February, for a Post Production Fund which is run jointly by Creative New Zealand and the New Zealand Film Commission. If successful, this grant will allow us to finish the film to a professional video and audio standard.
