Jarmo's personal profile:

I was born 1962 in Pori, Finland, Europe, so I'm now 39 years old (first crises of aging).
I'm certificed engineer in New Zealand (NZCE Mech.) with roughly 10y experience in computer technology and science.

I finished my study from Car Engineering 1982, after that I specialized Mercedes Benz electronics in VEHO Ltd and got my Mercedes Passport (cheap spare parts!). Then I designed a "natural joystick" for multifunctional working machines in ’84 while working in Satalaite Ltd (now Bronto Skylift) as an electrician designing and making electric components for cranes and manlifts.

1989 I designed the short distance TV-station for local needs at my hometown, but Finnish government didn’t give me a permit to start (ministry of transport wasn’t ready for this idea yet – only national stations were permitted).

At the same year I start studying computing and using computers for assisting in work and find them very useful tools.

1992 I finally started building my own computers for different purposes (e.g. constructural desing and testing), which made possible to design my own Ultralight-manlift with patented revolutionary boom-construction (world lightest and strongest). I also start manufacturing and marketing these lifts in Europe. I sold license before moving to New Zealand, but now we are planning to move that manufacturing line here and export to Europe.

1995 I assist design team to develop new type of solar-panel for Sun-Fin Technologies Ltd in Finland. Product was success, and now it is multimillion dollar business.

So 1996 I moved to New Zealand and got a strong need to get my hands oily again so I went to work for TPL Access to look after their manlifts…

Same time I continued with my "hobbies" and specialized in computer driving robots and cyber space experiments. At that stage I made my decision that computing needs major improving, and it's about the time to do something about it. Systems are currently unstable and slow, because the technology is based on wrong idea.

It’s been a dream since beginning of PC’s, that one day there is no waiting time to use computer or surfing Internet – everything should happen immediately. No-one these days thinks that turning radio on should take minutes, but that’s what it was before transistors, why are computers still like radios 40 years ago?

World will change more and more to information emphasis and we need to create technology, which lasts into the future and takes all possible bottlenecks away.

1999 theory for MDDS was ready and then I started collecting the real experts for Developing Team and finally, after very interesting project, we are ready to show results of our work! (y.2001)

And now, something less official…
This is what I normally look like - after being brutally interrupted (coffee-break)…

One quiet evening a programmer was walking by the lake, thinking of his own things, as usual. Then suddenly he saw a frog in front of him, and it started talking to him! Frog said: "hello young man, I'm actually a beautiful princess. An evil witch turned me into a frog, but if you would kiss me I'd turn back to the beautiful princess I was!". The programmer picked the frog up, looked at it with smile and then put it into his pocket and carried on walking.

Then the frog continued with a little worry in her voice; "you didn't get it? I truly am an extremely beautiful and rich princess and I promise to marry you and give half of the Kingdom to you - all you need to do is KISS ME!" Well, the programmer picked her up, smiled, and put her back to his pocket. Then the Princess got really angry and desperate and insisted on an answer, why in Earth did this guy refuse to kiss her!
The programmer stopped his walking, picked her up, looked at her and explained;

"Now look. I'm a programmer. I have money enough for coffee and smokes. Computers and programs I'll get from my work. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog is COOL."
