About ICYE New Zealand

International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE) is an international organisation, offering young people the opportunity to spend six or 12 months in another country, sharing another culture and learning about economic, cultural, social and political diversity.

Participants are usually involved in volunteer social work projects, although school programmes are available in some countries.

ICYE operates in more than 30 countires, in Europe, The Americas, Asia, The Pacific and Africa.

The ICYE exchange programme operates on a 'One in, one out' basis.
ICYE-NZ can send out up to 10 exchangees each year, although we host up to 18 exchangees each year.

ICYE-NZ is run entirely by volunteers, and is a nonprofit making organisation.
