Houhanga Rongo is based in Otara, South Auckland, New Zealand, and currently provides the following services to the community:

The home provides a supportive, loving environment for the residents (currently twelve) and visitors.

Family and Community Development.
We choose to walk beside those in our community, those individuals or families, who seek a place of acceptance and belonging. We provide seminars and workshops on reconciliation, community development, counselling, cross-cultural understanding workshops and an evaluation programme called "EMPOWER".Plus OUR VERY OWN Discipleship course called PURAPURA PAI, written especially for indigenous peoples!     We offer after-school tutoring to children who learn from a hands-on approach. Children learn literacy and computer skills, reading, math, art and drama with the help from volunteer tutors.
    BECOME A SPONSOR It costs us just under two hundred dollars NZD per child per year. We believe this is an investment that is really worth it.     This is an addition to our after-schools program - a time where the gospel, "the good news" is shared with our young people
