Graeme Bruce's Chucky I

Chucky I is Graeme's first homebuilt kayak. It is a Redfish Kayak design called "The Return" The hull was as per plan but the deck is Graeme's own design. He also differed wtih the use of shearclamps which he prefers for all his strip boats.

Chucky II.

Graeme's ChuckyII is loosely based on Ted Moore's Endeavor design. The fairing of the hull worked out so well that Graeme decided to paint it. Normally a paint job will show up any defects on the surface much more readily then varnish. You would be hard pushed to find any ripples or dips on this hull. The red also highlights the wooden deck. The following pictures sum up this incredible workmanship more then words ever could.

Chucky III.

As you have realised by now, Graeme has a bad dose of the kayak building bug. His lastest kayak is a Renton Hunger design called the "Celeste". Some changes were also made to this kayak. The hull is about 10mm wider (55cm) and the stern has slightly more volume added. Also the bow and deck are different from the plan. As with his previous boats a shear clamp was also used. It has turned out to be a very nice boat in the water.
