Album
Welcome
to our family album page. We hope to keep this page fun and interesting.
Through a series of photos you will be able to get a feel for the sort
of enviroment our kittens are raised in. I will also be including photos
and comments from our kittens and their new families on my Grannie's Brag
Book. Would love to hear your comments. Wisha a guide dog puppy we
puppy walked has graduated and there is a link to her diary
on each webpage.
DUDLEY DONKEY
Dudley
joined us after the girls went to horse camp. They called saying dudley
needed a home. He was meant to be a peace keeper among a herd of bulls,
but he is too gentle. Apparently male donkeys will guard their herd, attacking
wolves etc, and also will intervene with any infighting, which is where
his role of peace keeper was meant to lie! He is a dear little man, and
getting more accustomed to human contact. We had hoped he could live with
the horses, but the two of them pick on him, relegating him to a corner
of his paddock, while they eat his grass! so he is on his own, we are goat
hunting for a paddock mate for him.
GIZMO
Gizmo arrived at 6
weeks old, still breast feeding, and Betty Boo as usual took over mothering
him. Gizmo is Jessica's dog, he is half Chihuahua and half Pomeranian.
Yammy thought he was all food and was gutted when he smelled like a dog!
Gizmo is sporting his full coat, and it
is much less dense then we had feared and totally non shedding, which is
a huge bonus. He is extremely clever and has his attitude under comtrol,
with a lot of help from his human family!
ROXIE
Roxie
is a three quarter standard poodle one quarter mastiff cross, she hides
the mastiff well, but it is there mellowing her poodle bounce.
Roxie
is now 2 years old, she is still a total delight. She breast feeds
cats, shares her meals and bones and is just a total family member. At
night she sleep on Chloe's bed, she loves co pilotting when in the car
driving. Chloe is able to express herself with variable topiary hair cuts
on Roxie, who takes her new looks all in her stride!
WIGGLE
BEE
Wiggle
Bee is one of two puppies darling Roxie had to a chocolatew labrador. He
is a happy little dog, and was meant to go to a home, but Chloe delivered
him and worked on us until she managed to keep him. He is only young but
already very good with the cats and kittens and livestock. He actually
fetches, which Roxie is far too dignified to do. He adores Chloe and the
feeling is mutual!
BUMBLE
was a very lucky egg, deserted by her mother and about to be tossed in
the compost when Chloe listened to it and she chirped at her.
She
was quickly peeled, and dried and kept warm and fed, that night she was
snuck back under Mom. Alas in the morning she was cold and limp and near
death, while her siblings were running about happily. She came back into
the house and was warmed and fed and given walking lessons, and here she
stays! Bumble has now graduated from our bedroom to an outside home, and
she is starting to realize she may be a chook rather than a cat, parrot
or human
MAICHA
Jessica
is very fortunate, she has Maicha living with us for as long as she wants!
Maicha is a delightful
mare,
kind and honest, her pink skin is an issue! She wears a mask that gives
her quite a threatening look during the hot weather. She is the keeper
of the drive and insists on a handout before allowing vehicles past!
SNOWPRINTS ANNA
Anna
and Chloe have returned from a week long Horse Camp in Kati Kati and Anna
did very well. They went swimming, did stock work,
played
games on horseback and rode for about six hours a day.
MAGMA & OLLY
Magma,
ruler of the house, friend and companion of my 17 year old son Joshua.
Magma runs loose all day with our cats and insists on cleaning their ears
and noses! He plays boxing games
with
the kittens and terrorizes the dogs, and Joshua's younger sister Jessica.
Jessica now has got her revenge. Ollie is almost two years old and
is just starting to talk, he says "Hello Ollie" and mutters and is whistling
and imitating Magma!
BETTY BOO &
SOPHIE
This
is Betty Lou,
also
known as BooBoo. Betty is well known as The Talking Dog,
which she does indeed do. She is the daughter of our other Boston Terrier
Sophie, known as Snort. Both of the Bostons
adore the cats and frequently nurse the kittens.
O'Malley
O'Malley
is named after Thomas Omalley the alley cat in Aristocats, the fact that
he is a Mallard helped with his name.
He turned up in the middle of Hamilton a little fluffy duckling, with no
family. He came home and was nursed to adulthood. He has decided to stay
with us. We do clip his wings during duck shooting season, just in case.
He has a harem of chooks, and a lily pond. Every morning he arrives waddling
and demanding his share of cat biscuits. On Winter evenings he climbs
up to our spa on our deck, and keeps us company.
Dear
old Malley manged to get under the horse feet sometime in the night, and
we found him with a badly broken leg. I realigned the bones and splinted
it with a spatula and duct taop, he had m\no movement at all in it. But
after a few weeks of immobilization, with twice daily water therapy he
is waddling about in a very distinctive manner.
Typical
Devon, scavenging for food, always check the dishwasher before turning
it on!
