| The Stem. | |

Use the same initial steps as when forming the leaf but select a terrain instead of a lattice. Then...full flow, full brush hardness and white in the greyscale for this one. Choose an appropriate brush size and click once or twice. Don't over do this as you want the result to be a very slightly tapering cylinder. |
| Also don't smooth here as it is really unnecessary and likely to detract from the cylindrical shape needed. Again clip the base and take the stem back to the main window. | |
| Grouping the Leaves and Stems. To finish this part of the tutorial it is now necessary to duplicate your first leaf and group it along with the stem as pictured. (Side and front views were shown at the beginning of this section.) It is important at this stage to also ensure that the origin point of the group is aligned with the stem's centre on the Y axis. This is the axis around which the multireplications will be rotated and therefore quite an important step. |

| Multireplication of the Leaf Whirl. The mutireplication for this group will need to be tested so that the reduction in size and the Y axis offset suit the shape and size of your stem cylinder. Trial a single replication by selecting the group, clicking edit/multireplication, putting in the attributes designated below and clicking the tick. These figures may need some adjustment to have the stem sections line up for your particular leaf whirl but once the first replication is lined up just fire away. The number of replications is also a matter of choice but personally I found six fitted my needs adequately. |
