Cast and Crew Profiles for Venus.

LEAD ACTRESS: ASA LINDH

Asa Lindh is a Swedish model, currently residing in New Zealand. She has featured on magazine covers and catwalks around the world. Asa has considerable acting experience, with significant roles in Xena, and she recently starred in a new tele-pilot for Pacific Renaissance.

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY: PHIL BURCHELL

Trained at UCLA, Phil spent four years working as a DOP in Los Angeles before returning to New Zealand in 1995. His recent credits include the shorts 'Chinese Whispers' (dir. Neil Pardington and Stuart McKenzie), 'Last Shave' (dir. David Reid), 'Brush' (dir. Stuart McKenzie) and 'Voiceover (dir. Miranda Harcourt) - best New Zealand short film 1998. Phil is also an experienced steadicam operator, and has worked on various commercials.

ART DIRECTOR: ASHLEY TURNER

Ashley has been a production designer and art director for ten years, with his credits including the Cannes Award winning 'Planet Man.' Besides many shorts and commercials, Ashley has also worked on several Montana dramas.

MUSICAL COMPOSITION: MARTIN HENDERSON

Martin is well known in New Zealand for his numerous bands and solo performances (as Brother Love). He is a very talented musician, working outside of the main stream, with an uncompromising style. He tours America regularly, and has recorded several albums. Martin wrote the closing song especially for Venus Blue.

EDITOR: CUSHLA DILLON

Dillon has more than ten years experience as an editor, including Harry Sinclair's award winning feature Topless Women Talk About Their Lives.

SOUND DESIGNER: DAVE WHITEHEAD

Dave Whitehead is an up and coming name in sound design. He was responsible for designing sound in 'The Ugly' and 'Heaven,' and has worked on numerous shorts. Dave has created a unique and absorbing soundscape, pushing 'Venus Blue' into new realms of expression.

TITLES AND EFFECTS: HARRIET HAMER

Harriet was responsible for the opening title sequence and the "tunnel of knowledge"effects in "Venus Blue". Harriet has a background in Fine Arts, film making, editing, digital animation and multimedia. Harriet's computer based post-production and digital effects business Synthetic, which operates out of Terabyte Interactive, is rapidly gaining a reputation for its creative, innovative work.

Harriet's recent work is on-screen at Te Papa - Museum of New Zealand, in the acclaimed "Golden Days" exhibit which combines big screen video projection with synchronised robotics.

DIGITAL EFFECTS: HONEYCOM LTD

Honeycom are a Wellington based company who have recently ventured into the digital effects world. They were responsible for all of the blue lightening effects in Venus Blue, including the spectacular end sequence.
