A teenager in Vietnam has the ability to glow in the dark, a local paper reports.
Cha Ma Le Buot, 17, first noticed last month that his body was unusually warm. After removing his shirt he discovered his body was covered with spots giving off a bluish light which flickered then died. Buot is the third person reported with the symptoms, which locals are at a loss to explain.

The following articles caused a little stir a few years ago. Some issues like the Viking art have been in the media of recent times, but the other subjects are now completely unheard. Both camps of people still cannot agree as to the validity of the following claims.

Aust researcher in NZ hunt for lost civilisation:-22 April 1996 The Press, Christchurch, New Zealand

Tauranga- An Australian researcher is comming to Tauranga in June to hunt for a lost civilisation. Rex Gilroy of Tamworth, Australia, hopes to find a race of highly advanced megalith-building people developed in the Bay of Plenty and other parts of Austrilasia.
If Mr Gilroy, 52, finds what he is looking for, the history of New Zealand would have to be rewritten.
Mr Gilroy, director of the Australia Pacific Archeological Research Centre, and his wife Heather will spend up to a week in the Bay of Plenty investigating claimed sightings of Viking Ship art.
Mr Gilroy said the inscribed rocks were found about 10km to 15km south of Tauranga. They are said to be adorned with scripts depicting Viking ships, Scandinavian serpents, and a human figure with a hammer-shaped weapon.
Mr Gilroy is also excited about a brick shaped stone, adorned with strange symbols, found about 20 years ago in the area.
This will be the Gilroys' fourth expidition to Tauranga since 1980. He said he had not yet found any inscriptions or stones of great significance, but this time around he will come armed with a better idea of where to look.
Mr Gilroy is also hoping to discover serpent and eagle motif alters similar to those found in New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and New Britain.

American enters ancient-wall debate:-7 May 1996 The Press, Christchurch, New Zealand

Auckland- An American historian has joined the debate about the origins of the Kimanawa stone wall. David Hatcher-Chidress arrived in New Zealand at the weekend to investigate the rock wall in Kaimanawa State Forest, soth-east of Taupo, which is becoming the centre of an archaeological debate.
The wall, known only to a few local people, hunters and trampers, last week came under the spotlight after Christchurch geologist Barry Brailsford said it might be up to 2000 years old and might link New Zealand with Egypt, South America, and other ancient civilisations.
Mr Brailsford said the wall was too old to be European and the structure was not Maori. He believed it might have been buit by a pre-Maori civilisation.
His theory has come under fire from other geologists.
Mr Hatcher-Childress, who was due to visit the wall yesterday, said he believed it was ancient and was similar to the megalithic remains found on Easter Island, which would link it wo South America.
"This wall, I think it's big news. It can really change the way established archaeologists look at the pre-history of New Zealand and this area of the Pacific," he said.
"There are a lot of preconceptions about the Pacific and the Pacific Islands, particularly that people recently came to the Pacific and to New Zealand. I maintain that's not correct.
"I think people have been travelling and settling the Pacific for many thousands of years."
Carbon-dating of evidence in a cave found on New Ireland, near the Solomon Islands, goes back to 30,000BC, he said.
The Kaimanawa wall is constructed of large stone blocks, some about a metre thick, which appear to have been square-cut and stacked in a style similar to a brick wall.
Mr Hatcher-Childress said he was "not surprised at all that there is this megalithic wall here and I would think that there are even more." -NZPA

Historian says mystery wall natural:- 9 May 1996 The Press, Christchurch, New Zealand

(picture showes David Hatcher-Childress standing by the wall. Text under picture reads "For American researcher David Hatcher-Childress, left, the Kaimanawa wall, near Taupo, was built by a pre-Maori civilisation, but other scientists say it is a naturally occuring phenomenon.")

Palmerston North- Anyone believing the peculiar stone wall found in Kaimanawa Forest park is a remenant of a lost civiliation is the victum of a hoax, says Taupo historian Perry Fletcher.
He said he had been aware of the wall for decades, and thought nothing of it.
As a result of interest generated in 1990, he wrote a report for the Department of Conservation.
"My conclusion was that I didn't see anything that suggested anything other than a natural geological phenomenon." he said.
Mr Fletcher, who is the file keeper for the Bay of Plenty branch of the Archaeology Association, said the main face was 6m wide and 2m high.
The rock was Rangitaiki ignumite, one of the several volcanic outflows that occured in the region.
The wall was part of a ridge that extended for hundreds of metres.
Stones made of the same material were widely deposited in the area
Cracks were due to cooling and earth movement, possibly exaggerated by tree roots growing through them
"The unevenness matches top and bottom, which you never achieve in any manually split stone," he said. Ash subsequently buit up against the wall.
Planned excavations would prove the base slanted inwards, and was not man-made.
Mr Fletcher said the wall was not part of any local Maori folk-lore.
He was critical of the American historian David Hatcher-Childress, who said the wall was part of megalithic remains found on Easter Island, which would link it to South America.
"These oeioke are going back to a 19th century idea of a megalithic seafaring race that travelled the world, but there is no evidence of this," Mr Fletcher said.
People jumping on the Kaimanawa band-wagon would do better learning more about ancient Maori sites that were rapidly disappearing. Massy University history professor Kerry Howe said he was "appalled" by the conclusions "people with American accents" were jumping to. NZPA

Early civilisation claim 'inherently racist':-13 May 1996 The Press, Christchurch, New Zealand

Wellington- A Victoria University Maori studies lecturer, Peter Adds, says the notion of a pre-Maori civilisation, suggested after studies of a puzzling forest wall near Taupo, are inherently racist.
His claim, based on the belief that many people are trying to belittle Maori land claims, has been taken up by the local Ngati Tuwharetoa tribe, which began a hui at the weekend.
The result of the meeting is expected to be conveyed to the Department of Conservation this week.
The department's Turangi field centre manager, Ralph Turner, said: "Of corse out department must take full cognisance of the Treaty of Waitangi.
"We will have discussions with iwi before anything takes place on the DOC estate."
Meanwhile, local Maoris may put a stop to any further investigation into the origion of the Kaimanawa forest wall that some believe was buit by an ancient civlisation.
The theory that the stone wall, 50km south-east of Taupo, could be up to 2000 years old was put forward by American historian David Hatcher-Childress and Christchurch geologist Barry Brailsford.
That has been disputed by various historians and archaelogists.
The department has concluded that the only chance of finding out the truth is "more digging." -NZPA
